FFBWW Sustainability Workshop a Hit!

On Thursday, May 17th, 2013, the Foundation for Black Women's Wellness teamed up with the
South Madison Promise Zone and several partners including the UW-Madison and sponsor MG&E/New Green Challenge for Sustainability Night--a community event and conversation on eco-stewardship and health in our community. What a great turnout we had! We were especially thrilled to host a special workshop, Black Women & Sustainability: Going Back to Our Roots. Over 25 guests attended our session on a Friday night. Presenters JoAnn Pritchett and Lashunda Prescott Manley were FABULOUS! We'll be setting up several sessions to learn more from our own local sustainability queens on composting, water barrels, gardening, and all the other things they're doing in their own backyards and rented garden plots. Stay tuned for updates on future workshops! Visit our Facebook page to view more pics.
