The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness is proud to partner with the Madison Tubman Walkers, a local walking and fitness collective, to improve the health of local African American women and girls.

Launched in March of this year in conjunction with the National GirlTrek organization's nationwide call to get Black women walking for health, the Madison Tubman Walkers have quickly created a new and vital opportunity for local women and girls to get fit! With walking as the focus, women are invited to attend weekly and monthly group walks and encouraged to walk 5 days a week for a minimum of 30 minutes.

One of the group's co-organizers, Vanika Mock, was recently named Madison Representative for the national GirlTrek group which will expand the range of options and resources available to support the Tubman Walker's local reach and impact.

For more information or to join the group's efforts, like the Madison Tubman Facebook page, or email Marilyn Peebles Ruffin at Visit the Girltrek-Madison page as well for motivation galore!
