Join us for this powerful session that features three dynamic fellows from our Well Black Woman Institute who are leading work in their respective fields to drive change while demonstrating why Black women’s voices, presence and experience are the key ingredient to securing our healthy, well and healed present and future. The session will also explore dynamics of leading as Black women, and how we lead with self-care to preserve our health and wellness as change agents.

Black Women Deserve and desire space to be, to breathe, and to focus on mental wellness and accessing wealth. Join speaker, author and mental health advocate Bianca Cotton, founder of the Behind the Confident Smile movement, who will lead an intimate and actionable session to help us acknowledge where we are as women, where we’ve been, and where we desire to be.

Afternoon Session 8 — Back to Our Roots: Leading the Movement to Restore Black Farming & Self-Sustaining Communities

Our health and well-being as a community is tied to the health of our planet and our environment. Yet we face alarming threats to our land, food supply, air, and water — and longstanding threats to our ability to own land and to govern how we produce our food, protect our environment, and sustain our legacy as farmers and natural healers. Join this session to learn how three incredible leaders are reclaiming our farming and natural roots as a pathway to self-determination, better health, and healing.
